Karnataka State Open University

Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) was established on 1st June 1996 with the assent of H.E. Governor of Karnataka as a full fledged University in the academic year 1996 vide Government notification No/EDI/UOV/dated 12th February 1996 (Karnataka State Open University Act - 1992). The act was promulgated with the object to incorporate an Open University at the State level for the introduction and promotion of Open University and Distance Education systems in the education pattern of the State and the country for the Co-ordination and determination of standard of such systems. Keeping in view the educational needs of our country, in general, and state in particular the policies and programmes have been geared to cater to the needy.

Karnataka State Open University is a recognised University of Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi, regular member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Delhi, permanent member of Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), London, UK, Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), Beijing, China, and also has association with Commonwealth of Learning (COL).

Karnataka State Open University is situated at the North–Western end of the Manasagangotri campus, Mysore. The campus, which is about 5 Kms, from the city centre, has a serene atmosphere ideally suited for academic pursuits. The University houses at present the Administrative Office, Academic Block, Lecture Halls, a well-equipped Library, Guest House Cottages, a Moderate Canteen, Girls Hostel and a few cottages providing limited accommodation to students coming to Mysore for attending the Contact Programmes or Term-end examinations.

EIILM

EIILM University, Jorethang, Sikkim, is fully recognized and approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) vide letter no. F. 9-19/2007 (CPP-I) dated 09the May 2008 and is established under Sikkim State Legislature ACT No. 4, 2006, Government of Sikkim. The Act was notified and published under the Government of Sikkim Gazette Notification No.28/LD/2006, dated April 3, 2006. EIILM University is the first University in the country who have been awarded the prestigious ISO 9001:14001 certification awarded by UKAS..

The Sponsoring Body for EIILM University is "The Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM)" Kolkatta, established in 1995, to provide higher education in India through varied programs. CMJ UNIVERSITY

The CMJ University has come into existence by virtue of a special Act of Meghalaya State Assembly sponsored by the CMJ Foundation of Higher Education & Research Society striving to bring this small town on the national educational map. The CMJ University is established under CMJ University Act 2009 (Act 4 of 2009) Passed by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Published in the Gazette of Meghalaya on 20th July 2009 Laitumukhra, Shillong, Meghalaya -793 003

The university is committed to a vision of nurturing talent into all-round excellence, producing not just technocrats or professionals, but the genuine visionaries. CMJ University is established by a State Act (No.4 of 2009) under Section 2(F) of the UGC Act 1956. It has started functioning from the current Academic Session (2009-10) from premise at Laitumukhra, Shillong, Meghalaya with adequate and well developed state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities i.e. Lecture Halls; Seminar & Conference Rooms; Laboratories & Workshops; Library & Computer Centre.

The permanent campus of the University is being developed with an estimated investment of more than 200 crores, supported by thriving ecosystem of knowledge in breathtaking picturesque natural surroundings at Sumer, 30 kms from Shillong, the State capital Headquarter of Meghalaya.
