B.Tech. Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering is an undergraduate Civil Engineering course. Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like bridges, roads, canals, dams, and buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering and it was defined to distinguish non-military engineering from military engineering. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies. The duration of the course is four years and it may be offered by some institutes on more or less times as per their rules and regulations.
B.Tech. Civil Engineering Eligibility
B.Tech. (Civil Engineering); minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10+2) with subjects such as physics, maths and chemistry.
Students who have passed Diploma in any branch of Engineering from State/Central Govt. recognized Technical Board / Institution / University or Three Year B.Sc. in any stream with subject as Mathematics shall be allowed direct admission in 2nd year.
B.Tech. Civil Engineering from SIMT, Rohini
Shyam Institute of Management & Technology is providing B.tech course to the students in association with Karnataka State Open University. The detailed syllabus of the course is as under
